KATHMANDU: The Former Police Organization Chief Forum has called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to take action against Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung over remarks made at a public event. The forum expressed grave concern about Gurung's statement, where he reportedly said, “the tongue of the Inspector General of Nepal Police should be cut off,” which they argue infringes upon the principle of freedom of expression.
Minister Gurung made these comments during an event in Pokhara on Saturday. The forum has demanded a formal apology from Gurung and urged Prime Minister Oli to take suitable action against him. In response, Prime Minister Oli has advised public figures to be more cautious with their language in public statements.
