KATHMANDU: The late monsoon-induced floods and landslides across Nepal have resulted in the deaths of 100 people, with 67 still reported missing. Additionally, around 100 individuals have been injured in the disaster.
The Home Ministry provided a breakdown of casualties, reporting that 20 people died in Lalitpur, 15 in Dhading, 12 in Kathmandu, and 10 in Kavre. Other districts such as Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Solukhumbu, Panchthar, and Bhaktapur also reported multiple fatalities.
Several districts including Dolakha, Sindhuli, Dhankuta, Mahottari, Ramechhap, Jhapa, Udayapur, Ilam, Saptari, and Nuwakot recorded isolated deaths due to the floods and landslides.
In response, the Ministry of Home Affairs has deployed 9,983 security personnel for search and rescue operations in the affected areas. So far, 3,039 people have been successfully rescued from the disaster zones.
