KATHMANDU: In Srijananagar, Suryabinayak Municipality-5 of Bhaktapur, a tragic accident claimed the life of a young man, Sujan Tamang, aged 23. Originally from Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap, Tamang resided near Maitighar in Kathmandu. The accident occurred along the Araniko Highway when Tamang, riding a scooter, collided with a car.
The collision transpired as the car, traveling from Jagati to Kathmandu, collided with Tamang's scooter, which was heading in the same direction. Both Tamang and the pillion rider suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. Despite efforts, Tamang succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital.
The pillion rider, identified as 23-year-old Raj Tamang, is currently receiving medical treatment at Madhyapur Thimi Hospital. In response to the incident, authorities from the District Police Range Bhaktapur have dispatched a team, including an investigation officer, to the accident site to conduct further inquiries.
The driver of the car, identified as Ashish Shrestha, aged 31 and a resident of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Ward-13 currently residing in Kathmandu, has been detained by the Jagati Police Circle for investigation purposes. Police have assured that a thorough investigation into the incident is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident.
