1 dead, 2 injured in ambulance accident in Butwal

KATHMANDU: One person was killed and two others were injured after being struck by an ambulance in Butwal Sub-Metropolis-13 along the East-West Highway. The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Kamala Nepali from Butwal-11 Devinagar, according to the Area Police Office in Butwal.

The accident occurred this morning when an ambulance (Lu. 1 Ja.531), transporting a patient from Argakhanchi to Butwal, hit the pedestrians near a suspension bridge. The injured individuals, 55-year-old Harikala Nepali and 35-year-old Jhupa Thatrai, both from Devinagar, are receiving treatment at Lumbini Regional Hospital.

The ambulance driver, Narayan Bahadur Magar from Panini Rural Municipality-7 of Argakhanchi, has been taken into custody for necessary action, according to the police.
