2 separate accidents claim lives of pilgrim and pedestrian in Chitwan and Makwanpur

KATHMANDU: A tragic accident occurred in Gadyauli of Rapti municipality-2 in east Chitwan, resulting in the death of a pilgrim named Nima Kumari Rijal, aged 60, from Rapti-2. Rijal had recently returned from Chataradham in Sunsari after participating in an ongoing religious festival there. As she disembarked from the vehicle she had traveled in, she was struck by a bus, causing severe injuries. Despite receiving treatment at Old Medical College, Rijal succumbed to her injuries.

The bus driver involved in the accident, identified as Krishna Sapkota, aged 41, from Hetauda submetropolis-18 in Makwanpur, has been arrested by the police for further investigation into the incident. The District Police Office, Chitwan, confirmed the arrest and stated that inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

In a separate incident, Pradip Waiba, aged 35, from Kailash rural municipality-10 in Makawanpur, lost his life in a tragic accident involving a tractor. While traveling in the tractor, registered as Pradesh 03-001 Ta 0419, Waiba accidentally fell off the trailer of the vehicle, leading to the fatal incident. The accident occurred at Sadikhoriya of Kailash-10. Following the incident, the driver of the tractor, Birman Syangtan, aged 33, from Baghmara of Bhimphedi rural municipality-1, was apprehended by the police, and the vehicle was impounded for further investigation.
