14 injured in Bolero accident in Dolakha District

KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, fourteen individuals sustained injuries in an accident involving a Bolero vehicle at Mailung Rural Municipality-1 in Dolakha district. The vehicle, registered as Province 01-026 Cha 9813, was carrying attendees of a funeral ceremony when the accident occurred. There are reports stating that nine individuals among the injured are in critical condition. All the victims are residents of Sailung-8.

The cause of the accident is believed to be brake failure, potentially exacerbated by the vehicle carrying a load exceeding its capacity. Following the accident, a rescue operation was initiated, and the injured individuals were subsequently transported to Charikot for medical treatment. Ishwor Koirala, the Chairperson of Mailung-1, confirmed the details of the rescue operation and medical transportation.

This incident highlights the risks associated with overloading vehicles and the importance of adhering to safety regulations, particularly when transporting passengers.
