KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on Cooperatives has publicly released its report, submitted to the House of Representatives last week.
This detailed document, which spans 1,124 pages, was made available on the House of Representatives website by the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Thursday.
The main conclusions of the report titled "Report of the Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee, 2081, Regarding Misuse of Cooperative Society Savings Funds" were given by Committee Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa during a recent House hearing.
The Wednesday evening Council of Ministers met after this presentation and decided to act on the committee's recommendations.
Government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung announced that the report would be sent to various ministries for implementation.
He said that in order to guarantee that the report's recommendations are followed, Parliament had decided to send it to the pertinent ministries.
Among the ministries involved are the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Land Management, and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
Furthermore, the Parliament Secretariat has been asked by Speaker Devraj Ghimire to forward Chairman Thapa's report to the administration for any required follow-up measures.
