Nepali Ambassador Paudel presents credentials to Governor General of Canada

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Ambassador to Canada, Bharat Raj Paudel, officially presented his letter of credential to Governor General Mary Jeannie (J) May Simon during a special ceremony held in Ottawa on Wednesday. At the event, Ambassador Paudel conveyed best wishes from President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for the personal well-being of Governor General Simon and the ongoing peace, progress, and prosperity of the Canadian people.

During a courtesy meeting following the presentation of his credentials, Ambassador Paudel discussed the strong and friendly relations between Nepal and Canada. He outlined the Nepalese government's initiatives and priorities aimed at bolstering democracy and fostering rapid economic development. Additionally, he highlighted Nepal's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and graduating from the category of least developed countries.

Expressing gratitude for Canada's consistent support in Nepal's socio-economic development endeavors, Ambassador Paudel reaffirmed his dedication to collaborating closely with the Canadian government and private sector. He emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade, tourism, investment, and technology transfer, as well as fostering deeper people-to-people connections and promoting economic partnerships beneficial to both nations.

Governor General Simon reciprocated the goodwill and expressed satisfaction with the positive relations between Canada and Nepal. She assured Ambassador Paudyal of the Canadian government's full support in further strengthening mutual ties between the two countries. The ceremony was attended by prominent officials from the Canadian government along with embassy staff, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
