KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom (NT)'s financial performance declined in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2080/81. The company's net profit fell 16.44% from Rs. 7.92 billion in the same quarter last year to Rs. 6.62 billion this quarter. The primary source of this decline is a 4.99% drop in operating revenue, or Rs. 34.46 billion.
Additionally, NT faced a significant 22.52% decrease in investments, bringing the total to Rs. 55.76 billion. The company's finance income also fell by 16.68%, reaching Rs. 6.48 billion. Despite these declines, NT saw a slight 0.83% increase in reserves and surplus, which now stand at Rs. 76.58 billion.
On a positive note, Nepal Telecom successfully reduced its operating and maintenance expenses by 12.98%, bringing them down to Rs. 6.64 billion.
