KATHMANDU: Twenty-nine individuals remain missing as a result of floods and landslides that occurred during Nepal's recent late monsoon disaster, which claimed 244 lives. The Ministry of Home Affairs spokesperson, Rishiram Tiwari, also stated that 179 people were hurt during the catastrophe.
17,174 people have been rescued from the affected areas as a consequence of a huge post-disaster response operation. In addition to helping survivors, authorities are working to repair damaged roads and highways.
The government and local authorities are working together to gather data about the flood survivors. Financial aid for transitional housing will be distributed after this information is collected; in the meanwhile, impacted families have already received food and other necessities.
A cheque for Rs 200,000 is being sent to the families of those who lost relatives in the accident. This help has so far been provided to 160 households through the District Disaster Management Fund.
The affected towns are receiving active assistance from the local and federal governments, who are working nonstop to restore infrastructure and provide relief.
