KATHMANDU: Constitution Day and National Day 2081 BS are being celebrated with great excitement today in Nepal and among Nepali populations living overseas. President Ram Chandra Paudel will be the principal guest at the major celebration, which is being arranged by the Government of Nepal and will take place at the military parade ground in Tundikhel.
At the event, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the chairman of the Constitution Day Main Ceremony Committee, will give a speech. President Paudel will throw a reception at the Nepalese President's Office in the evening.
Numerous initiatives are planned by political parties, non-governmental organizations, civil society, the commercial sector, and social organizations in addition to the federal, provincial, and local governments. Events will also be held to commemorate the anniversary by Nepali diplomatic posts overseas.
On September 20, 2015, or Ashoj 3, 2072 BS, the Constitution of Nepal was ratified, marking a major victory in the long-running democratic fight of the Nepali people. With its 35 sections, 308 articles, and 9 schedules, it emphasizes ideas like as socialism, federalism, inclusive democracy, and secularism.
On Constitution Day, we honor the day that Nepal's Constitution came into effect, enshrining the democratic principles of "governance by the people, for the people." It has been nine years since the promulgation of the Constitution.
A National Day musical concert, arranged by the people of Kathmandu, is taking place at Durbar Marg. Prominent figures such as the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, and Chairperson of the National Assembly have released statements urging the populace to rejoice heartily.
People are being urged by the government to light lights and raise the national flag as part of the celebrations. The celebration this year is a testament to the continued dedication to the democratic and inclusive principles found in Nepal's Constitution.
