KATHMANDU: With an overall profit of Rs 47.41 billion, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced an amazing turnaround in its financial performance. NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghising made this declaration at a press conference honoring the conclusion of his second term's third anniversary.
Ghising highlighted the dramatic shift from eight years ago when the NEA faced an accumulated loss of Rs 34.61 billion. This financial recovery reflects significant improvements in the authority’s operations and financial management.
From 3.32 billion to 10.23 billion units, Nepal's electricity consumption has increased under Ghising's direction. The increased demand for energy and the NEA's successful efforts to develop its infrastructure and services are highlighted by this growth in consumption.
