KATHMANDU: Due to an intense monsoon, meteorologists have issued warnings for 34 districts spread across five provinces in Nepal that are very vulnerable to flooding, landslides, and inundation on Tuesday and Wednesday. The districts in the provinces of Madhesh and Karnali are not now regarded as being at high risk, despite the fact that these warnings draw attention to serious problems.
Thirteen districts are classified as low risk and thirty-six as medium risk by the Weather Forecast Division. Based on the severity of possible weather impacts, this classification attempts to assist authorities and citizens in prioritizing their response and preparedness.
Koshi Province's most at-risk districts include Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Taplejung, and Panchthar. Bagmati Province's most vulnerable districts are Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Chitwan. Gurkha, Myagdi, Baglung, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, Nawalparasi East, Lamjung, and Syangja are the districts with the highest risk in Gandaki Province.
Lumbini Province's districts of Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Palpa, Gulmi, Nawalparasi West, Dang, Banke, Bardia, Pyuthan, and Arghakhanchi are all at risk. There is also high risk in Sudurpaschim Province's Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, and Baitadi. It has been urged that the locals exercise caution and take all necessary safety precautions.
