Tanahu district achieves full vaccination milestone for children

KATHMANDU: Tanahu district has achieved a significant milestone by becoming a fully vaccinated district, with all 10 municipalities within the district previously declared as fully vaccinated. The Health Office confirmed that every child aged 16 months to 59 months in the district has now received complete vaccination coverage.


This accomplishment signifies the successful adherence to the National Immunization Program schedule, ensuring that all children received their vaccinations within the specified 15-month timeframe. Bidya Tamang, Head of the Health Office, emphasized the diligent efforts made to identify and vaccinate any children who may have missed their immunizations.


Santiraman Wagle, head of the district coordination committee and coordinator of the district-level vaccination coordination committee, stressed the importance of maintaining high immunization coverage to protect community health effectively.


According to Shankar Babu Adhikari, Vaccination Officer at the Health Office, achieving fully vaccinated status for the district’s municipalities involved extensive efforts across all 85 wards. Pramod Soti, Head of the Health Branch of Beyas Municipality, reported that 2,818 children aged 16 months to 5 years received full vaccination, along with 1,111 children under 15 months who were also immunized.
