KATHMANDU: The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) reports that between January and September 13, dengue fever affected 9,486 people in Nepal, resulting in six fatalities. Notably, there were 2,633 new cases of dengue within the first 13 days of September alone.
Tanahun has reported the highest number of infections with 1,435 cases, followed by Kaski with 1,318 cases, Parbat with 880 cases, Kathmandu with 871 cases, and Chitwan with 628 cases. Infections in other districts have remained below 500.
The disease has affected 76 districts nationwide, with the exception of Humla. The EDCD continues to monitor and manage the situation as the outbreak persists.
