KATHMANDU: Nepal has observed a sharp increase in the number of cholera cases. The Lalitpur district alone has reported 38 cases. As per the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, the total number of cases nationwide has now reached fifty.
Eight cases in Kailali, two in Pyuthan, and two in Kathmandu district have been reported by the division. Rapid response teams have been sent in to manage and stop the disease's spread in response to the epidemic, working with local and provincial authorities.
These teams are actively involved in screening both patients and individuals who have been in close contact with them to prevent further transmission, as stated by the Division.
