Government announces plans to legalize marijuana cultivation for medicinal purposes

KATHMANDU: During the presentation of the government's budget estimates for the fiscal year 2024/25 in a joint session of parliament, the Finance Minister announced plans to legalize marijuana cultivation and consumption for medicinal purposes. The minister stated that laws would be formulated to enable commercial production of marijuana in the country, emphasizing that legal arrangements would be established specifically for the cultivation of marijuana for medical use.
