KATHMANDU: Dengue fever has killed two people in Nepal recently. One death was recorded in Jhapa and the other in Tanahu. A 50-year-old male from Damauli, Tanahu, and a 40-year-old woman from Jhapa both died from the illness, according to the Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control.
Over 2,300 cases of dengue have been recorded in Nepal since December of last year, and the disease has spread to 73 districts nationwide. There are 287 instances documented in the Kathmandu Valley alone. Twenty people in Nepal lost their lives to dengue last year.
