KATHMANDU: The statement of Chabilal Joshi Banjade, a business colleague of Galaxy Television's owner GB Rai, has been recorded by the parliamentary investigative committee in connection with a cooperative fraud case. Joshi was questioned about alleged embezzlement involving funds from Suryadarshan Cooperative in Pokhara, Supreme Cooperative in Butwal, and Sahara Cooperative in Chitwan, which are suspected to have been diverted through Gorkha Media.

Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former managing director of Galaxy Television, is scheduled to provide his statement later today. The committee's Chairman, Surya Thapa, noted that the process of collecting statements is nearing its end, with attention now turning to preparing the final report.

The final report is anticipated to contain further specifics regarding the evidence the committee has suggested pointed to Lamichhane and others being involved in the misappropriation of cash through the transfer of money from several cooperatives.
