KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development's (MoALD) agricultural technicians have made the decision to go back on strike as of right now. Since the deadline for resolving their problems has passed, the technicians are staging a sit-in at the ministry's door.
The strike involves approximately 300 agricultural technicians nationwide, who have been called to halt work. The strike follows a previous 15-day strike that ended after the newly appointed Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, provided a written commitment to address their issues within 15 days.
The Prime Minister's Agriculture Modernization Project's planning officer, Madhav Paudel, claims that the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration's lack of cooperation is the reason why little progress has been made. Because of this, the technicians are starting a sit-in protest again today.
