KATHMANDU: The Mamti road section along the BP Highway at Roshi has been blocked since 11:15 AM on Tuesday due to a landslide triggered by continuous rainfall. The floodwaters from the Mamti and Vaikure rivers have caused significant disruption, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded. Security personnel and traffic police are working to reopen the highway.
During the monsoon season, this area frequently experiences roadblocks. In contrast, one-way traffic has resumed on the Dhulikhel-Pakucha section of the Araniko Highway after being obstructed earlier in the day. The road is now open in one direction, thanks to efforts by the Nepal Police and Nepali Army. Ongoing work aims to clear debris and reopen the road fully.
