KATHMANDU: The Madi-Thori road in Chitwan has been obstructed due to flooding from the swollen Ghangharkhola rivulet following continuous heavy rain. The flood has brought vehicular movement to a complete halt, with vehicles stranded along the road. According to Police Inspector Kedar Man Dong at the Area Police Office in Madi, traffic will only resume once the rain subsides.

A bridge is currently under construction over the Ghangharkhola rivulet, and flash floods frequently disrupt traffic on this route. Mayor Tara Kumari Kaji Mahato of Madi Municipality mentioned that while bridges have been built over several rivulets along the Madi-Thori road, the construction of bridges over the Ghanghar, Bagai, and Magui Khola rivulets is still ongoing. She has urged the Postal Highway Project Office to expedite the completion of these bridges. Additionally, the construction of a bridge over the Patarekhola has yet to begin.
