KATHMANDU: To commemorate Olympic Day 2024, the Nepal Triathlon Association hosted the 'NTA Masters Triathlon' competition on Saturday. The event saw Jamieson and Anna Tyndall emerge victorious as champions. Jamieson clinched the top spot in the men's category, with Gayle Wasmer and Ross White securing second and third positions, respectively. In the women's division, Anna Tyndall claimed first place, followed by Sonya Martin in second and Catherine in third.
In the team category, the trio of Tika Jirel, Narayan Thapa, and Ash Narayan Chaudhary clinched the top spot. Following closely, the team comprising Samir Shrestha, Karma Gurung, and Jane Bajracharya secured second place, while the trio of Ayush Maharjan, Pradeep Nepal, and Surya Maharjan secured third place.
The triathlon event commenced at Tushal Multivenue in Manmaiju and concluded at Manmaiju Dya Chhen. Participants undertook a challenging course consisting of a 250m swim, a five-kilometer cycling segment, and a two-kilometer run.
