KATHMANDU: The inaugural meeting of the Nepal-China Aid Project took place in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, as announced by the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa. Held on Wednesday, the meeting primarily focused on outlining the aid project to be implemented in Nepal.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around establishing a project coordination mechanism, determining the project format, and devising strategies for implementation and monitoring. Both sides reached consensus on holding two additional meetings later this year, with a plan to review project implementation upon conclusion.
Furthermore, both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation to uplift the living standards of communities residing along the Nepal-Tibet border, as highlighted by the Consulate General.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, led the Nepali delegation during the meeting, while the Chinese delegation was headed by a senior official from the Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet.
The upcoming meeting is scheduled to take place next month, with the timing to be determined based on the convenience of both parties. This collaborative effort signifies a significant step towards fostering stronger ties and promoting development initiatives between Nepal and China.
