KATHMANDU: As the government prepares to present the Committee’s Report on the Investigation of Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) Bill, 2081 to parliament, a writ petition has been filed against the bill in the Supreme Court. Advocate Shyam Krishna Maskey filed the petition, arguing that some provisions of the bill breach international treaties and norms.

Maskey asserts that these provisions could further harm the victims affected by the bill. Despite political parties' agreement and plans to endorse the bill in parliament, the petition raises legal concerns and questions about its potential impact on those already suffering.
