KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, effective from Saturday. According to a decision reached at a conference of the NOC Board of Directors, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 3 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have been reduced by Rs 1 per litre.
Following the adjustment, petrol is now priced at Rs 162.5 per litre in various cities including Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. The price stands at Rs 164 per litre in Surkhet and Dang, and Rs 165 per litre in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal. Similarly, diesel and kerosene are now available at Rs 149.5 per litre in specified locations and Rs 151 per litre in Surkhet and Dang, with a slightly higher price of Rs 152 per litre in Kathmandu, Dipayal, and Pokhara.
The decision to revise the prices aims to provide relief to consumers by offering more affordable rates for essential petroleum products. This adjustment follows a routine review by the NOC Board of Directors to ensure that fuel prices remain in line with market conditions and are accessible to the general public.
