KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has unveiled the 'Monsoon Preparedness and Response Plan 2081 BS' during a press conference today. The plan is set to be implemented from the beginning to the end of the monsoon season.
Endorsed during the 23rd executive committee meeting of the Authority on June 3, presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, the plan forecasts that over 1.801 million individuals and more than 400,000 households will be affected by monsoon-related activities this year.
Anil Pokhrel, the executive chief of the Authority, highlighted that the plan includes obtaining meteorological forecasts for the upcoming week, three days, and the day prior, enabling preparedness and response measures to be conducted accordingly. Additionally, the plan emphasizes the collaboration of various ministries and organizations to ensure the effective implementation of preparedness and response efforts.
