Google Maps has officially introduced Street View to Nepal, so that people can view the rich landscapes, exquisite culture, and fascinating heritage of this country, from their homes, anywhere in the world. The feature was unveiled at the Digital Nepal Conclave 2025, whereby people can tour interesting sites and scenic locations in Nepal in a virtual, Street View experience.
Using Street View, people can view a walk across the historic grounds of Kathmandu Durbar Square along with the Swayambhu Mahachaitya (Monkey Temple), and appreciate and the detailed architecture of Dattatreya Temple in Bhaktapur among a myriad of sites. You can view Bhaktapur’s Bolache Tole (Potter’s Square) together with the Kulekhani Reservoir, the lush hills of Pokhara.
Street View provides digital experiences, in addition to supporting both tourism and cultural preservation by providing international reach to the treasures of Nepal. People can plan their travels, explore destinations and places of interest or find the local sites for a virtual tour loaded onto their device.
To access this new way to see Nepal, you start by opening Google Maps, select your destination in Nepal, use the 360° Street View, or drag the yellow pegman on the map. With the official launch of the feature, you can now also see the beautiful and culturally-rich wonders of Nepal, wherever you may be, for free!
