Police Sergeant and 3 others arrested for alleged Rs.20 million theft in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: Four people have been arrested in Bhaktapur for allegedly stealing 20 million rupees, one of them being a police sergeant. According to the authorities, the suspects stole something from a private property by breaking in under the cover of a Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team.


The incident occurred at the residence of Dilliraj Raut in Dadhikot, Bhaktapur. It is claimed that Police Sergeant Krishna Bahadur Bohara, along with four accomplices, entered the premises under the guise of being a CIB team and absconded with 20 million rupees from a drawer. Reports indicate that they utilized a motorcycle bearing a government license plate during the commission of the crime.


Currently, one suspect remains at large. Sergeant Bohara, previously stationed at Maharajgunj – 2 Battalion, has been placed under arrest. The other detained individuals include Sujan Rasaili, Bhim Bahadur Tamang, and Munaraj Rai. Both Sergeant Bohara and Tamang hail from Bhotekoshi, Sindhupalchok.
