KATHMANDU: A truck carrying cooking oil from Simara to Kathmandu fell into the Trishuli River early this morning. The vehicle, with registration number Na. 6 Kha 6283, plunged off the road into the river, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhesraj Rijal from the District Police Office, Chitwan.
The incident happened in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 near Pachhiskilo. The driver and his helper are thought to have drowned in the river, therefore the authorities have started a search and rescue operation to find them and the truck.
An officer squad from the nearby Muglin office has already reached the location to support the search operations.
