KATHMANDU: The Diary Development Corporation (DDC) has successfully cleared a due payment of Rs 480 million to farmers within a span of 13 days. This payment was facilitated by an increase in the sale of milk products during the month of Baisakh.
According to Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, the Acting General Manager of the Corporation, the surge in the sale of milk products such as milk, curd, paneer, mohi, lassi, and ice-cream during the summer season has contributed to a 50% increase in revenue. This increase in cash flow has enabled the DDC to promptly settle farmers' payments and other outstanding dues.
Specifically, the DDC disbursed Rs 100 million in Biratnagar, Rs 10 million in Janakpur, Rs 80 million in Hetauda, Rs 42.5 million in Lumbini, Rs 27.5 million in Nepalgunj, Rs 15 million in Dhangadhi, and Rs 130 million in the Kathmandu region, according to official sources.
