KATHMANDU: Early this morning, at Bharatpur-29 Simaltal on the Narayangadh-Muglin road segment in Chitwan, a bus and a truck collided. The incident, which occurred at around seven in the morning, injured a number of bus passengers.
The collision involved a truck, with the registration number Ga 2 Ba 1108, traveling from Muglin to Chitwan, and an Indian bus, registered as R 01 T 6372, heading to Kathmandu from Chitwan. The truck driver, Rajan Chhetri, a 28-year-old from Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-3 in Dhading, sustained minor injuries. Two other individuals, Manj Rawal Barai, 30, and his 6-year-old son Ashish Rawal Barai, from Adarsh Deval Rural Municipality-5 in Bara, were also injured in the accident.
The bus driver fled the scene following the collision, and local authorities, led by SP Bhesraj Rizal, are currently working to locate him.
