KATHMANDU: At Gautam Buddha International Airport, a Buddha Air flight had an issue on Thursday night when it slid approaching the runway's edge during landing. Fortunately, DSP Manohar Prasad Bhatta of the District Police Office Rupandehi reports that none of the 59 passengers and crew members on board were injured.
Flight number 805, which departed from Kathmandu at 9:30 PM, encountered the issue while landing from the eastern side of the runway. Despite the skid, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft following the incident.
The airport remains closed as a result of the current failure to relocate the aircraft to a safer location. To help resolve the problem at Gautam Buddha International Airport, Buddha Air is mobilizing additional technical support from Kathmandu.
