KATHMANDU: Two tragic road accidents occurred this morning, claiming the lives of individuals in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, and Sanepa, Lalitpur.
In Swayambhu's Bhagwanpau area, a cyclist named Bikas Nepali, 30, from Ajirkot Rural Municipality of Gorkha, lost his life after being hit by a tipper truck. The accident happened around 5 AM when the tipper truck (Ba 5 Kha 1471), traveling from Dallu to Bhagwanpau, collided with the bicycle. Despite being rushed to Manmohan Hospital, Nepali couldn't survive his injuries. The driver of the tipper truck has been taken into custody by the Valley Traffic Police Office.
In another incident in Lalitpur's Sanepa locality, a motorcycle accident resulted in one fatality and one injury. Bijay Ghising, 24, from Manthali Municipality-6 of Ramechhap, lost his life when his motorcycle (Ba 74 Pa 9221) lost control and overturned while traveling from Balkhu to Dhobighat around 5 AM. Sanjay Ghising, 26, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Star Hospital in Sanepa, as confirmed by the police.
