KATHMANDU: A Shree Airlines flight, SHA 121, that departed from Tribhuvan International Airport this morning for Surkhet had to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff. The incident occurred around 8 AM when a technical issue was identified with the aircraft.
The crew promptly responded to the problem, which was reported as a 'nose wheel lock' issue, and executed an emergency landing back at Tribhuvan International Airport. During the emergency landing, the aircraft briefly halted on the runway.
This flight marked Shree Airlines' first operation of the day. The landing was completed without further incident, and the aircraft was safely brought to a stop.
Anil Manandhar, the market manager for Shree Airlines, confirmed that the passengers were subsequently transferred to Surkhet on an alternative flight.
The issue with the nose wheel has been addressed, and operations have resumed as normal following the incident.
