KATHMANDU: Since last night, persistent rainfall has triggered landslides, resulting in the closure of the Dumre-Besisahar road once again. According to the Lamjung District Police Office, a landslide occurred this morning in Benisahar Municipality-1, Dalal, leading to the road's blockage.

Police Inspector Thaneshwar Chapai mentioned that clearing the road will be challenging due to the ongoing rain and continuous occurrence of landslides in the area.

The closure of the road has disrupted traffic from Lamjung to major destinations such as Kathmandu, the federal capital, Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province, as well as Chitwan and Bhairahawa. Consequently, numerous travelers find themselves stranded along the route.

This recent landslide marks the second instance of the Dumre-Besisahar road being blocked in a short span, following a previous closure on June 18th due to similar circumstances.
