Dinesh Raj Dahal appointed chairman of Nepal's Film Development Board

KATHMANDU: Dinesh Raj Dahal (DC), a director and media personality, has been appointed as the chairman of the Film Development Board (FDB) of Nepal. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting at Singh Darbar, where DC was chosen from among three recommended candidates. 


The recommendation committee, led by Rajesh Kumar Thapa, member secretary of the FDB, had also considered film director Deepa Pandey Basnet and Rajesh Thapa, former General Manager at Nepal Cultural Corporation. The committee's recommendation was presented to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, who subsequently approved DC's appointment.


In addition to DC, several other notable individuals, including actress Karishma Manandhar, director Deepa Pandey Basnet, and producer Arjun Kumar Dangol, had also applied for the chairman position. Former chairman Bhuwan KC previously held the role.
