KATHMANDU: There will soon be an end to Nepal's ban on the TikTok video-sharing website. The ban was first put in place last year by the administration of former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda," but Prime Minister KP Oli's team is currently reviewing it. While efforts are being made to lift the restriction, some internet service providers have already started to allow users to access TikTok again.
It is anticipated that a future Cabinet meeting would authorize the official lifting of the restriction. A proposal is being prepared by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for this reason. Today is the Council of Ministers' regular meeting, when the decision to lift the ban will probably be made in the end.
