KATHMANDU: The transmission of four popular Indian TV channels, Zee, Sony Entertainment, Star, and Colors, has been halted in Nepal due to non-payment of service charges. The suspension is a result of financial disputes between the channel broadcasters and distributors. Customers have been notified of the interruption via SMS.
The issue has arisen because Nepal Rastra Bank has not provided the necessary exchange facility for payments required to access these channels. This situation follows a previous temporary suspension of internet services due to similar financial disputes. Service providers have assured that they are working on a resolution to restore broadcasting soon.
