KATHMANDU: Nepal achieved notable success at the 54th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) by securing two medals. Agraj Chapagain won a bronze medal, while Anurag Gupta received an Honorable Mention Award at the event, which concluded on Monday in Iran.
A representative of the Nepal Physical Society, Dr. Harishankar Mallik, took pride in the students' accomplishments and underlined that the Olympiad gave them a priceless chance to display their abilities on a global platform.
Initially, 23 students were selected through a national competition to represent Nepal at the IPhO. From this group, Anurag Gupta, Yogendra Upadhyay, Rajendra Dhami, and Agraj Chapagain were chosen for the international event. Two professionals, Dr. Mallik and Pradeep Kumar Bhattarai, accompanied the students and offered assistance during the tournament.
