KATHMANDU: The parliamentary special committee established to investigate the misuse of cooperative funds has scheduled discussions with victims for Wednesday. Following a meeting at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the committee decided to engage with representatives of individuals affected by issues in problematic cooperatives.
Chairing the special committee, Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri announced plans to hold discussions with these representatives. During Tuesday's session, the committee held talks with officials from the Department of Cooperatives and outlined intentions to gather further information directly from victims the following day.
Chairman Thapa explained, "Today, we intend to engage with representatives of the victims. We have invited representatives from all 29 cooperatives and other relevant parties. Given the number of victims, it's not feasible to include everyone in these discussions. Therefore, we have organized this program to hear from representatives of the affected parties."
