KMG chairman Kailash Sirohiya to appear in court for custody extension

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), is scheduled to appear at the Dhanusha District Court on Friday for a custody remand extension. He was arrested on Tuesday concerning a dual citizenship issue and has since been detained at the Dhanusha Police Office. The court initially permitted a three-day remand starting Wednesday.

Ranjan Aawa, spokesperson for the District Police Office, stated that the investigation against Sirohiya is still ongoing, necessitating further custody. Consequently, police will present Sirohiya at the court at 10:30 AM to request additional time for his detention to continue the investigation.
