KATHMANDU: A couple, Man Bahadur Bal, 60, and his wife Kekai Maya Bal, 50, were found dead in Mahadevtar of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-4, Kavre. The bodies of the husband and wife were discovered in their home, with Man Bahadur found in the room where their shop was located, while Kekai Maya was found in the kitchen. Initial investigations suggest that Man Bahadur may have been killed by a blow to the head with a heavy object.
DSP Rajkumar Shrestha, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, stated that while it appears to be a case of murder, the motive and perpetrator remain unknown. The couple lived alone in the house, and their bodies were found with the door left open. Authorities from the District Police Office, police station Phoksingtar, and area police office Devitar have launched an investigation into the incident.
The tragic event is believed to have occurred on Monday night, as concerns were raised when the couple failed to participate in the Thakur puja on Tuesday afternoon. Locals, upon visiting their house, discovered their lifeless bodies, prompting them to inform the police. The community is left shaken by the loss of the couple and awaits further developments in the investigation to uncover the truth behind their untimely demise.
