KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three youths, Aditya Limbu (19), Chhering Tamang (22), and Nikhil Tamang (21), from Dewan Chowk in Arjundhara Municipality-4, Jhapa. The arrests were made after a search operation led to the recovery of a loaded gun and stolen goods.
The operation was initiated in response to a report of theft at Indira Adhikari's Milandandha, Arjundhara-7 store. After forcing open the store's lock, products, and cash were taken on the evening of August 9. At about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the police started the hunt and found the suspects.
During the arrest, police confiscated various stolen items, including silver jewelry and recharge cards. A loaded gun was also found at Chhering Tamang's residence. Specific items seized included silver chains, rings, anklets, and NTC and Ncell recharge cards.
The stolen khukuri used in the crime was recovered from the shop. The arrested individuals are currently held at the Birtamod Police Station, and the District Police Office Jhapa is continuing the investigation into the incident.
