KATHMANDU: After experiencing a temporary closure due to low visibility issues, the Pokhara Regional International Airport has resumed its services as of this morning. Buddha Air's information office, represented by Dipendra Kumar Karna, confirmed that the airport reopened following an improvement in visibility conditions. Flight operations had been suspended entirely for two days over the past four days, with partial operations conducted on the remaining two days.
The closure of the airport was attributed to several factors, including incidents of forest fires near the airport and the presence of haze in the vicinity. These conditions significantly reduced visibility, prompting the suspension of flight operations. Consequently, passengers holding flight tickets during this period opted for alternative travel arrangements, such as road transportation.
However, with the weather conditions improving this morning, the Pokhara Regional International Airport has resumed its air services. The restoration of flight operations comes as a relief to travelers affected by the temporary closure, allowing them to proceed with their journeys as planned.
