KATHMANDU: Flights at the Rara airport in Mugu, which were disrupted for a week due to adverse weather conditions caused by continuous rainfall, have now resumed. Krishna Rijal, the Chief of Rara Civil Aviation Office in Talcha, confirmed that both Summit Air and Tara Air have resumed their flights to Rara airport starting Tuesday. The disruption had forced passengers to remain in Mugu as flights were unable to operate.
The disruption in flight services was primarily due to thick fog that enveloped mountainous districts across Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces following the prolonged rainfall. The improved weather conditions have now allowed flights to resume, facilitating the movement of passengers to and from Rara airport.
