Tragic landslide in Humla District claims 2 lives during Dashain preparations

KATHMANDU: In the Humla district, two people sadly perished after being buried by a pile of soil. Dhruba Shahi, 25, and Mansura Shahi, 24, who live in Ram in Tanjakot Rural Municipality-3, have been identified as the victims.


When the two were moving dirt to get their house ready for the impending Dashain celebration, the incident happened on Wednesday at around eight in the morning. It took around thirty minutes to walk from their house to the scene of the incident.


Lal Bahadur Shahi, a fellow local who was with them during the action, was slightly hurt in the incident. He is presently getting medical attention for his wounds at a nearby health facility.


The bodies of the deceased have been brought to a nearby medical facility for post-mortem exams, according to Suresh Subedi, an inspector at the District Police Office in Humla.
