KATHMANDU: Seven members of the same family died in Pokhara when a landslide swept away their home. Basanta Kumar Sharma, Kaski Police Spokesperson, stated that a landslide buried Kul Bahadur Pariyar's residence in Purunchaur, Pokhara Metropolitan City-19, at about 11 a.m.
Prasana Pariyar (15), Kul Bahadur Pariyar (46), Mankumari Pariyar (43), and Laxmi Pariyar (85) died in a landslide that swept away their house, that happened due to intense rainfall.
Along with her husband Pashmit Pariyar (25), Radhika Pariyar (56), and another lady named Prabha Pariyar (20), of Chitwan, who was visiting her mother's house in Pokhara, were all killed in the landslide.
DSP Sharma informed Republica that two other individuals buried by the landslide were rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment.
