KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel approved three legislation passed by both houses of the Federal Parliament. President Paudel has backed three bills: the Economic Bill (2081), the Bill on Raising National Debt (2081), and the Customs Duty Bill. This legal clearance is in compliance with the clauses contained in Article 113(2) of Nepal's 2015 Constitution.
The Economic Bill of 2081 contains legislative measures aimed at controlling economic policies and tactics to improve the country's financial health and progress. Meanwhile, the 2081 Bill on Raising National Debt authorizes the government to borrow funds to meet budgetary responsibilities and developmental demands. Furthermore, the Customs Duty Bill of 2081 sets tariffs and charges applicable to imports, which are critical for controlling commerce and increasing revenue sources for the country.
