KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Nepal for official business. Vikram Misri, the Indian Foreign Secretary, extended the invitation while he is currently in Nepal. The invitation was considered during a meeting between Secretary Misri and Prime Minister Oli at the Singha Durbar Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Since KP Sharma Oli's recent appointment as prime minister, Nepal and India had not had a high-level interaction until Secretary Misri's visit. Sewa Lamsal, Nepal's Foreign Secretary, invited Misri to come, and he accepted. Misri will end his official duties in Nepal on Monday by flying back to India.
